| Review: This movie is exactly what I bet goes on in those freak brain-washed Amish communities. Get away with murder- literally in the name of GOD.6 girls are born on 6/6/94 in a small Amish community, so the legend says 6 girls born on the 6th month 6th day that on their 18th b-day one will be left & she will be the devil. fast forward 18 years & their whole life people been trying to kill them- well they die alright but u gotta see it.I didnt expect much with this no name low budget film. I was impressed. The acting was real good & the story believable. You will never guess who the killer is.Ending made me smile. worth the watch |

| Review: Needing a break from software development, Ebola, and Kickstarter: I went to see the movie The Judge and left not sure whether I liked it or not.Reflecting on that, this is what I think happened:Many of use are familiar with changing something we are accustomed to, a healthier alternative, but change isnt easy. Such as going from using sugar in our coffee to drinking it black. It just takes time to adjust.Hollywood has routinely portrayed and romanticized the anti-hero. Weve grown used to this fare. However, the anti-hero story is always rendered in a flash of time. The arrogance, drug use, womanizing, what-have-you always looks glamorous and fun. Realistically, if these behaviors were shown over a larger time-span, the results wouldnt be nearly as pleasant.The Judge stars Robert Downey Jr, playing Hank Palmer, a prototypical anti-hero, a role Downey plays so well. However, it shows him over the course of growing up as a child into mid-life. The behavior that weve grown to like when depicted over a week or a month, is suddenly less appealing.It is realistic and healthy though. This is probably the most moral movie to have come out of Hollywood in years. A healthy change that will take some getting used to. |

| Review: Look, I go to the movies A LOT!!! I usually go a few times a month and I usually go by myself. We all have our own ways of relaxing and going to the flicks is mine. Ive seen them all (most more than once). The way I look at it is, you have to see the bad ones to appreciated the good ones!!! Ive not only walked out of the theater MANY times disappointed, but heck, Ive WALKED IN many times expecting to be disappointed. I honestly bought my John Wick ticket expecting it to be a, at best, so so flick. I cant tell you how refreshing it was to be wrong. Look, I wont lie, the story is about as basic as they come, but this movie makes it work. The action is as about as CRISP as Ive ever seen. The constant action, the music, the well chosen actors, along with Reeves ever, less is more presence grabs you nicely and keeps you entertained. Look, dont waste your time if your looking for academy worthy material… but if your looking for a solid action flick that will keep you entertained for a few hours… this movie is definitely for you! |

| Review: The trailer of The Best of Me received relatively strong criticism since the day it was released. As an avid reader of Sparks books I couldnt hold myself from watching the official adaptation of The Best of Me. I will make it clear that The Best of Me is a contrived romantic drama which offers nothing special. It is yet another white poor guy meets a rich girl with biased father drama. It will not be wrong to state that we have seen this before in The Notebook. But, this time it is so close that you will be surprised to see how Sparks is ripping himself off. The movie seems so artificial that at a certain point the fake drama galore and unnecessary stereotyping seem monotonous and dreary. Michael Hoffman gives his best but still the end product is an excessively exaggerated drama which doesnt transcend a certain level. Michael Hoffman disappoints this time. His grasp over emotional sequences seemed lackluster in this adaptation. He also failed to demonstrate a lively on screen chemistry amid Sandra and Dawson, the lead protagonists. Their on screen chemistry is a perfect example of contrived romantic schmaltz. The Best of Me left is plagued by a tacky concept and awful execution. On the acting front, Liana Liberato and Luke Bracey act in an unrealistic way as younger versions of Amanda and Dawson. They completely fail to realistically play the passion that the story demands. Their relationship doesnt rise above teenage hormones. Seriously, does it even sell now? The teenage on screen depiction of Amanda and Dawson was so numb that fine actors like Michelle Monaghan and James Marsden, as older Amanda and Dawson, couldnt bring the movie to a level that one desired. James Marsden gives a fine performance. Marsden can radiate a cornucopia of feelings from his expressions only. He is a very fine actor. Michelle Monaghan portrays herself as Amanda in a scintillating way. Her performance was full of passion but still not at par with her previous works. It is Gerald McRaney who gives a winning performance as Tuck. He proved it once again that he is a venerable actor. McRaneys role in The Best of Me is essential to the plot of movie, but not a memorable one though.Overall, it is a poorly handled movie with convoluted narrative and meandering plot. But, in a film dragging close to two hours and making you feel each minute, The Best of Me ends up being a lot of oversight with barely any insight. Skip it if you can! Watch it if you are a die-hard fan of Nicholas Sparks. It wont harm you either. |

| Review: I went to this movie mostly because of the show times of other movies we really wanted to see that we would have had to wait several hours for. I read one of the users reviews and thought, maybe not too bad and it had the word thriller as in crime thriller in the IMDb heading. I thought it may be a nice twisted psycho type flick, spiced up a bit by the sexual addiction line.Based on the best-selling novel by Zane, ADDICTED is a sexy and provocative thriller about desire and the dangers of indiscretion….Lions Gate Plot summary.It was totally off the mark. Bad acting, bad scripting, bad direction. I have seldom been mislead by user reviews (often by Critics) so I was upset. Money and time totally wasted. There were only 10 others in the theater so that should have been a warning. Hopefully, I havent given anything away here other than a warning…dont go! |

| Review: I have to applaud Hosseinis directorial debut. The Two Faces Of January takes us mostly to the 1960s Greece, with three main characters in focus.Beautifully shot, this visually stunning period-piece (if I can call it that) relies on story and characters rather than trying to impress with extravagant plot twists and special effects. The narrative is very well balanced and restrained from the hyperactive traps of modern cinematic storytelling.Good acting from everyone involved and my compliments to the music composer too, for providing a very fitting soundtrack. This is classic film making. Nothing innovative but very beautiful to look at, a fitting choice to watch on a lonely evening. |

| Review: I watched this entire film from start to finish with tears in my eyes and a smile plastered across my face.It tells a beautiful story of a small group of Gay Rights activists who take action to support the striking miners whom they feel are feeling the same oppression that they had once and were currently feeling.It is a gorgeous story of humanity. The film, in my opinion, perfectly captures the homophobia, bigotry, ignorance and curiosity that the LGBT community deals with showing the spectrum of opinions using the right amount of humour. While I cant speak to the accuracy of the time, I can see my own experiences with LGBT friends of mine and curious people painted across the screen.This is a must see movie that will show how hate can harm and will also reinforce your faith in humanity.The actors performances were all amazing and flawless, from tears to dance sequences. |

| Review: I havent written a review in ages but I feel this deserves one.I like to take gambles on movies with promise and it usually pays off – this one certainly did!Im no nerd but I like a bit of sci-fi. I also like movies with a small cast and a small set – maybe I am a nerd. ..or I just have good taste.If you have a bit of intelligence and 20 minutes patience – you will be rewarded. It takes that time to be introduced to the characters and the scenario – alright? Alright.The acting is pretty spot-on, considering I didnt recognize anyone. (Upon inspection this isnt a bunch of new actors, it has the dude from Homeland and a dude from Buffy.)Without spoiling much it ends up tapping in to the alternate reality or multiple reality game – which is cool. It starts off being quite amusing for the viewer but escalates nicely in to a dramatic conclusion.All I can say is watch it. I am looking forward to watching it again – its gone straight in my watch again pile which isnt very large.I wish more movies were like this. Well done everyone.(My honest review would be a 9, but it deserves a 10 here for the sake of it.) |
